Okay, what the hell? It was 1986 ten minutes ago and now a guy in a suit is telling me it's 2028? And this isn't even the same universe?

I mean... Okay that makes sense. No way you can get from Indiana to California that quickly- Unless you use portals or teleportation or wormholes but two would take an enormous amount of constant energy consumption and the other would probably spit you out in a different universe. Oh wait! I'm sorry. That's exactly what happened!

This is supposed to be theoretical but now it's science fact? Though given what we deal with... maybe I should have expected other weird science to be real, but I didn't think about it because we had enough to worry about.

I'm really glad I listened to that little voice in my head that told me to buy some warm gloves, a hat, and a heavy coat a month ago. I've never experienced cold like this before, and I hope to never do so again.

I'm also really glad I don't have to venture out into it, much. Online school would've been a boon back in the 80's, and I'm thankful for it now.

I have never really been a fan of cold weather like this. It makes me think of winters back home, which weren't always kind to my family.

However, one thing that I do like about the cold is making food that just warms the entire body. Thankfully, I have everything I need to make stroganoff, so no need to go out in this weather for groceries. I'm making an extra large pot, so if anyone doesn't want to go out in this to hunt down food, I can save you a plate.

This place is something.

Hey, how's it going? Name's Hadie. I just arrived, as I'm guessing people can tell. I wasn't expecting this little trip, but I'm guessing it will be am adventure. ...where's the nearest place to get something fresh to eat?

I've never really understood New Year's resolutions. They always sound like you're setting yourself up for failure or self-loathing if you don't follow through. But I did pick out a couple of intentions for this coming year. Things I'd like to keep in mind and focus on.

One of them is to keep this lovely girl happy and healthy. Everyone, ( please meet Jinx ).

She's actually been with me for a trial since just before Christmas, but I made it official and adopted her today. I've never had a dog before, so if anyone wants to give me tips, I would appreciate it.

Mike and I have been talking about it off and on for awhile, so I figured I would see how much interest other people might have in joining a D&D campaign. If you don't know how to play, we can teach you. It's not as hard as it might seem. We can even do a one shot if anyone wants to try it out, but isn't super committed yet. It can get pretty time consuming, but is a lot of fun. We have some ideas already in the works and Mike is one of the best DMs around.

Think we'll get many people? It would be cool to put some of the things we've been talking about into play. Even if we get just a small group together.

Maybe one of these days I won't be as excited about another rotation around the sun (or mundane things like school), but when you've outlived your original expiration date by two years these things are still kind of a big deal.

GIANT HALLOWEEN BASH! Edge of Glory will be hosting, costumes OBVIOUSLY encouraged. Go as wild as you want but important bits must be covered because I love you all but I'm not losing my liquor license for you. There will be prizes for some categories (think best group, spookiest, funniest, best mashup, coupl ah fuck it cutest couple, and probably more as I think about them).

Family friendly till 8, 18+ after that (and shouldn't you smol people be Trick or Treating anyway?)

Drink specials all night long and we'll be open till 2am. Halloween is on a Friday this year and we're going BIG so go practice your best Thriller and I'll see everyone there!
