How do you feel about Tommy asking to "learn to hit"?

I want him to be able to defend himself, but I want him to remember to rely on his mind as well.

I know that Stephen and Simon have talked about the clinic that'll be opening up, and I just wanted to add that I'll be holding some counseling hours there in addition to my other ones. While I'm still in the process of dotting i's and crossing t's to get licensed here, I do have years of experience in listening and counseling those who are in need of guidance or a listening ear. Since this last month was a lot, I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of the resources here.

Tuesday evenings I'll also be hosting a group session in the community room for folks who want to chat about the challenges and joys of life here.

Despite the insanity of last month, the clinic is still on schedule to open at the end of the month. Given what all we learned during....that, if any of our displaced residents need help sooner, we can take you. The plan is still no charge for the displaced.

My ward had a rather important birthday (his 18th, to be precise) during last month's nonsense, and while there are no guarantees everything has completely passed, the celebration of this momentous event should not be forfeited by the mere conceit of a calendar date.

I'm glad that the craziness of last month seems to be over. Hopefully it stays that way.

I realize this is probably only of interest to a small subset of people, but the debate on the Nanotyrannus has finally been settled - it's not just a juvenile T. rex, but a separate genus. About half the length and one tenth the body mass. (Okay, so word on the paleontology circuit is that this is still going to be debated, but it's still fascinating news.)

Molly and I went to get ice cream as a date like we usually do and we were waiting at the bus stop to take the bus home again like we usually do and then some guy come up to us and he was like "I found two of them" and like we were the only two people at the bus stop so I think he was talking about us but I have no idea who he is but he seemed to know who me and Molly are and that was not cool but he wasn't very friendly and he was talking to other people, but I didn't see them and I didn't want to get into a fight or let Molly get into a fight so I grabbed her and I ran as fast as I could but they have these traps for fast runners and it was like a trip wire or something and it knocked me off balance and I feel real hard and my arm really hurts and there is probably more of them throughout the city and I couldn't really pick up Molly anymore so we couldn't run but they were still looking for us so we tried to go around the long way and get back to the building but we got outside of the city and now we can't get back into the city and we don't really have any money for a hotel or nothing and I also don't know if hotels will let teenagers buy rooms

I know several of us were freaked out by the attack on our wolves. Yelena and I went to check out the area the morning after. Unfortunately, initial investigations didn't turn up much of anything. (Before you ask, I did this sort of thing for a living, so yes, we were thorough.)

Considering that several of our own were injured, it's worth keeping an eye out. But hopefully this was just some freak one off thing that we won't have to deal with next month. As mentioned elsewhere, there's no indication as far as we can tell that these folks knew they were hunting werewolves. Yes, this is San Francisco, but drive an hour east and you get all sorts of hunting types, so it's quite possible these were just out of town assholes folks who thought they got lucky on their hunting trip. Or unlucky since they didn't completely take down any wolves.

This is the end of my PSA.

Since we've had a few new arrivals, I figured it'd be worth it for me to tell folks what I do here. I run a a bit of a consulting firm, that draws on the talents of many of our residents. Consider it an unofficial loose network of superheroes, do-gooders, and vigilantes.

We keep tabs on local chatter from law enforcement and the like and help out where possible, doing what we can to help get clean up the city and make it safer.

If you have skills that you think could be useful or want to help out, feel free to let me know.

Mrs. Kovacs from floor 7 (Emilia, if you're friendly) wanted me to tell/remind everyone that her whist group is starting up next Thursday night at 7 PM in the common area.

Snacks and drinks are potluck style. Danae and Roderick from 12 are bringing finger sandwiches, and Rorie from 9 said they'd try their hand at a Victoria sponge cake. Edwardian dress is encouraged, but not required.

Don't worry if you don't know the rules. Apparently it's as much about the card game as it is catching up on building gossip. Who's in?
