Um. Happy 4th of July, I guess.

It is strange, seeing the date and realizing that I have been here nearly a year already. It is the longest I have lived outside of New Orleans since I moved there in 1910. And in a surprising turn of events, it would seem most of you have not grown too annoyed with me or weary of my being here.

While I know there are many festivities already happening this weekend, I would like to celebrate my time here, though I am unsure how. An evening gathering in the outdoor commons on the 5th floor, perhaps?

Which means it is nearing a year for you, as well, though there are at least a few more weeks until then. We ought to make a whole night of it to celebrate our being together again, oui?

It isn't that I'm not grateful for how much Clint cares and all, and I do love him a lot. And Klaus, too, he's been a really great step-dad type.

But I really, really hate how many major moments my actual Dad and Mom are missing out on. And like...it's been years now. I have to face up to the fact that they're just not coming. Or Cooper or Nate, for that matter. They missed prom, they're missing graduation, they won't see me open a business or go to college, they haven't gotten to meet Ben and Molly and America and Kamala and all of you and it just kind of sucks if I think about it for too long.

I'll probably regret writing all of this out in approximately ten minutes but I just keep thinking it and, well, yeah.

Anyone interested in getting teams together to play a friendly game of football?

Hi I really liked our not-on-Valentine's-Day date :)

Today has been a productive day. Managed to get myself a job at Ocean View stables just outside the city. They do therapeutic encounters, regular lessons, rides on the beach, summer camps, and cowboy cookouts. So I'll be leading rides, teaching riding lessons, and cooking for their monthly cookouts. If you're interested in any of those, let me know, I can definitely get you a discount.


As for the cereal - managed to make several types of cereal bars (I might have bought all the marshmallows at the grocery store). Decided to use some of them to build a model of the Enterprise - my ship from home, but there's plenty extra if folks want some cereal bars.

Look, I love Fruit Loops and Cocoa Krispies as much as the next person, but I think there is such a thing as too much cereal and having boxes of it overflowing out of my closet? That's a little much, universe.

Man, The magic here gets in the way of too many things. It blows.
