If you want to be humbled, walk two streets over to that coffee place that roasts their own blend, pick up a large to-go cup and a two bags of said blend, and then slip on ice while crossing the street, dumping your recent order all over yourself.

The police officer that saw it happen did at least help me up, but not before he had a good laugh at my expense.

It's the start of the first quarter, you're still finishing up Q4, so of course the day is back-to-back meetings. Smash-cut to the end of it all, you finally get a chance to check your phone for anything non-work related and—would you look at that?

It's cold. and I'm glad suddenly I don't drive since even just walking down to the comic shop today I could barely see an inch ahead and fell on my ass twice.

Christmas was...not as bad as I thought it might turn out. Thanks to those who came to do cookies. I feel less alone here. That helps a lot.

My name's Daine. I don't really know what else to say, I guess, except that me and Kitten really need to get back home as soon as we can. If we can. They said there's no way to do that.

Oh. I guess I ought to warn you all, especially the ones I'm living with, but Kitten can pick locks. I've told her time and time again it's rude, but she's just a baby and she can only mind her manners so much. So I'm sorry if she ends up where she ought not to be, but if she does just call for me and I'll come get her.

I didn't really get a chance to get to know my new roommate since I was stuck out of the city for most of October, but I'd really like it if the people sharing my living space didn't keep disappearing on me. Kind of makes me feel cursed.
