I think I found a space for us. It does have a neighbor, but the house abuts a wooded area where we could run.

It's 90 minutes South, on about 20 acres, and it's set up to be a vineyard. We could use that as a cover.

Alright, I’ve slept on it. You know moving is really exhausting, and I’d kind of just got done moving into a place. Or I thought I was, before getting zapped here yesterday. But this time the moving didn’t come with any of my stuff or my cat, so I’m pretty annoyed about that.

I'm glad that the craziness of last month seems to be over. Hopefully it stays that way.

I realize this is probably only of interest to a small subset of people, but the debate on the Nanotyrannus has finally been settled - it's not just a juvenile T. rex, but a separate genus. About half the length and one tenth the body mass. (Okay, so word on the paleontology circuit is that this is still going to be debated, but it's still fascinating news.)

Well, this is... unexpected. It seems one can't get back across the bay into the city tonight? Came to Berkeley today to teach & work at the museum here and now.... Not sure how I'm supposed to get to work tomorrow? the ride share cost to go around... It's not the first time I've slept in my office and I'm sure it won't be the last.

OOC: As of Tues, Oct 14, Henry is hosting a sleepover for residents at UCBerkeley's Museum of paleontology and has arranged some rooms at the Berkeley lab guest house. (Yay department funds!) Any residents stuck in Berkeley/Stanford are welcome.

Early college admission applications are due in a little over two weeks, so if no one hears from me until then just check with Stiles or Kitty for signs of life.

I do not wish to cause alarm, but it should be known that there was an attack last night on some of the wolves.

While I have no information on who they were or why they were there, I did gather an immense feeling of anger and panic from them as they retreated. One of them may also have some broken bones. Do with that information as you will.

Someone please explain to me what the hell just happened. The government types said a bunch of shit that I think they made up.

Whatever's happened to the city almost makes me wish I was a biologist. As it is, I've spent much of my free time exploring the various regions - so much biodiversity, it's incredible. It does make me wonder whether you could construct something like this to counter the effects of global warming. Or, back home, to make regions further from the equator more hospitable for dinosaurs.

Unfortunately, though not for lack of trying, I haven't found many fossils, I wonder if that's because these biome regions are not exactly natural - or rather, they were almost instantaneous and not over the thousand or years or more that it normally takes an environment to change.


On a different note, does anyone have a favorite spot for rock climbing around here?

Did someone manage to sneak into my bedroom and leave this little friend on my pillow?

Sometimes living with a genius means coming home and finding their notes all through your textbook. Because who wouldn't want to read Criminal justice responses: How agencies apply theory to policy and enforcement for fun?

In case you're interested, the 'Dino Days' exhibit at the Natural History museum at the California Academy of Sciences closes tomorrow. It's definitely work checking out and I'm happy to play tour guide if anyone wants a personal tour.

I will be working part-time there and part-time at Berkley's Museum of Paleontology which is really more of a research museum, but I'm hoping to convince them to do more public events as they do have some lovely specimens there.

The last time I was in San Francisco, I was nearly arrested. Can't say I thought I'd ever be back, or that I ever forgave Gemma for being unable to hold her drink.

But hello, I suppose. I'm Ginny and I guess we've all been kidnapped.

I'm not posting this to demand well wishes or whatever. More to poke fun at myself. I turned 29 yesterday and with everything that has been going on I actually forgot my own birthday. Who does that?? The last birthday of my 20s went out not with a bang but a whimper.

I should have lined up a dinner date with some rando. At least made the day weird.
