This is a pretty inconvenient time for heating to be busted in the classrooms.

I felt compelled to start something in the new year to challenge myself that isn’t academic so I’m taking a martial arts class after school. Too late to include that on any college applications but that’s okay, telling myself not everything has to be for the purpose of reaching that goal. I should be hearing back from one. Any day now.

Can you check the mail? I have a feeling. Not a Banshee feeling, just a regular Lydia feeling that if my letter doesn’t come soon I’m going to assume it’s lost in the mail and hold the post office hostage until I get it.

I have never really been a fan of cold weather like this. It makes me think of winters back home, which weren't always kind to my family.

However, one thing that I do like about the cold is making food that just warms the entire body. Thankfully, I have everything I need to make stroganoff, so no need to go out in this weather for groceries. I'm making an extra large pot, so if anyone doesn't want to go out in this to hunt down food, I can save you a plate.

The zoo really should be more up front about what they're selling. If I'm paying money to "adopt a lion", I should at least get to pet it or something. Calling it adoption when it's really just a donation is false advertising. Lion cubs are pretty cute though.

So, that art show I mentioned last month. It's happening this weekend! And I swear I'm not freaking out There's an opening reception Friday night from 6pm to 11pm and you should all come! There will be snacks & drinks (non-alcoholic and some alcoholic) and a whole bunch of really amazing art!

And while Karl (aka, the fog) has been extra heavy lately and is a vibe, I really need these painting to dry before Friday.

Speaking of, my fellow artists - I need your stuff by noon friday (or earlier) so we have time to get it all hung.

I'm not going to try and copy her by saying it's not every day that your best friend is suddenly years younger than you due to alternate universes making time a little weird even by Beacon Hills standards...

My ward had a rather important birthday (his 18th, to be precise) during last month's nonsense, and while there are no guarantees everything has completely passed, the celebration of this momentous event should not be forfeited by the mere conceit of a calendar date.

As such, who would care to join me this weekend at a venue and experience of Zed's choosing?

So, this brunch invite for tomorrow? Who's going? Hard to pass up free food and a chance to get to know our neighbors.


I might have a problem for our tech/biomed folks around here. Seems during our search and destroy mission earlier this week, one of their EMPs messed with my prosthetic arm and it's mostly just a limb shaped paperweight at the moment. I've tried doing a hard reset but it looks like they fried it pretty well. Although I make a dashing Captain Hook, any help in getting it working again or making a new one if we have to go there would be appreciated.

You can call it the Peter Tingle, you can call it Spidey Senses, you can call it just plain paranoia, but someone's been tailing me the whole way home.

They're not stupid, he's keeping his distance. Like...literally just out of reach of webbing distance. But I'm also not stupid and he's literally there any time I turn around.

This is getting old. I don't know what they've got going on but after what happened to the pack, it's not cute or funny.

So the question is - what do we do? Should I try confronting them? Or someone with slightly more tact, maybe? Tony can tell you, me interrogating people doesn't usually go well.

I don't believe in coincidences, and I've heard no fewer than four people in the halls talking about werewolves being attacked in the day or so since I arrived. Anyone care to explain? I'm not going to use it for a story yet, I'm just curious.

I do not wish to cause alarm, but it should be known that there was an attack last night on some of the wolves.

While I have no information on who they were or why they were there, I did gather an immense feeling of anger and panic from them as they retreated. One of them may also have some broken bones. Do with that information as you will.

Lovely place! Fancy scenery. Can't say I've ever been here before. The tour's not taken us that far from England just yet. I keep wondering if I accidentally touched a portkey or something. Everyone's been really nice though. Bummed out that the rest of my band isn't here. How can I line up gigs without my band?

Oh! Sorry. I'm LilyLu. Should have said that first. Got a bit distracted, is all. I'm the drummer and singer for the wizard rock band, Rising Phoenix. We're really just getting started, and now I'm suddenly overseas with no way of getting in contact with my mates. Or... my equipment? Oh nooo, my drums! I'll have to get a new set, but mine was already so nicely tuned in the way I like it. Rubbish...

Anyway, I was told I might know some people here. Are there really wizards and muggles together here? That's really nice.
