I am severely stir crazy. Now that the weather is less awful I signed up to attend some science lectures just to get out. Used to do that a lot back home. The Exploratorium has a few solid events coming up.

Just as an fyi to friends & family, Ramadan starts this month. So come sundown on February 17, I will be fasting from sunup to sundown. Till March 18 or 19 or so, depending on when the moonand is sighted.

When I told the General I was leaving UNIT because I needed a change this wasn't what I had in mind. The Liaison Officer may have called this a portal, but it seems more like a rift in time and space; there's one like it in Cardiff back home. Every so often things (and occasionally people) would fall through. Interesting though... I suppose it makes sense that if this happens on our Earth that it would happen on alternate ones. Though alternate Earths are a little new. Still, I've dealt with worse; heard the Bay Area is normally nice this time of year - snow aside. Suppose that this is just another adventure.

Also, I think I shocked the Liaison Officer with how calmly I took all this new information. Hope Jack isn't too worried when I don't arrive in Cardiff for my visit.

Okay, so I don't know who thought doing classes through a computer was a good idea - and yes I know the weather sucks - but science class cannot be done properly through a screen. It is something that must be experienced, hands on. Doing science through a screen doesn't work and it's hard to do experiments at home.

We had snow days back home, or... actually... we didn't have that many. I think it had something to do with the fact that the town was so small and the land was flat enough that plows were able to do their jobs quick. But seriously, how long until I can be back in science in person?

Well, it’s official, the bay is freezing over. I just had to help break ice down at the wharf.

I think emergency vehicles are still getting about, but there’s a lot of black ice about. Even the interstate looks treacherous and I definitely wouldn’t try crossing the bridge.

Let’s hope the power holds for everyone attending or teaching virtual lessons on Monday.

This has not been my doing, but I'm going to take and advantage of it and disappear in the cold and ice for a few hours today.

Mike and I have been talking about it off and on for awhile, so I figured I would see how much interest other people might have in joining a D&D campaign. If you don't know how to play, we can teach you. It's not as hard as it might seem. We can even do a one shot if anyone wants to try it out, but isn't super committed yet. It can get pretty time consuming, but is a lot of fun. We have some ideas already in the works and Mike is one of the best DMs around.

Are either of you allergic to cats? Or hate cats? I think I asked Kate this already but asking again because we might have a cat situation in the apartment.

Apparently it's National Cookie Day. If you think we're not celebrating in the Barton-Hargreeves-Hayes household, you are very wrong.

...not that my poor roommates aren't inundated with cookies literally all the time but that's not the point.

Anyway, we've got gingerbread, sugar cookies, almond vanilla, and chocolate salted caramel. Make your requests or a random baggie with your name is just going to show up at your door in the middle of the night. (Or at a nice reasonable 6pm, I do have two classes today)

Ray, I did not forget about you! I hope almond vanilla is okay?? Does anyone else need gluten free before I start passing all this out?

My radio station officially switched to holiday music 24/7 until Dec. 26 so I'm officially in the holiday spirit.

Holidays are coming up but don't really feel that celebratory...But at the very least this place saw fit to gift me my laptop from my lab. Good to have my notes and my media files and well...everything. My life was in there. I did miss my playlists.

Alright, I’ve slept on it. You know moving is really exhausting, and I’d kind of just got done moving into a place. Or I thought I was, before getting zapped here yesterday. But this time the moving didn’t come with any of my stuff or my cat, so I’m pretty annoyed about that.

I got my girls out of the city, but my suit keeps hitting critical failure as I try to fly over the city. All other attempts to regain entry have been unsuccessful.

I can help manage people and supplies outside of the town, I just need to know who is out here and where you are. At the very least I can make sure the people out here are taken care of and try to get supplies through the inside maybe.

I've found an amazing bakery which does delicious gluten free cakes and bread! Definitely a check in the plus column for this neighborhood.

Mister Palmer? I believe you're my guardian here. I won't be much trouble. Just don't mind the axe. I think the only weird thing is that I keep a halal diet, but that mostly just affects meat and I can help take care of that. Or I don't mind eating vegetarian if that's simpler.

Since we've had a few new arrivals, I figured it'd be worth it for me to tell folks what I do here. I run a a bit of a consulting firm, that draws on the talents of many of our residents. Consider it an unofficial loose network of superheroes, do-gooders, and vigilantes.

We keep tabs on local chatter from law enforcement and the like and help out where possible, doing what we can to help get clean up the city and make it safer.

If you have skills that you think could be useful or want to help out, feel free to let me know.

Maybe one of these days I won't be as excited about another rotation around the sun (or mundane things like school), but when you've outlived your original expiration date by two years these things are still kind of a big deal.

Hello! I'm newly arrived, and now awake and alert, so I thought I better introduce myself on here before you wondered who the random guy exploring the building was.

There are a few familiar names on the network, but with this being the multiverse and all you might not be the people I know and I might not be the Ray Palmer you know. Please say hi anyway, new friends are always welcome!
