Second Chances: the Network

I know we have bigger problems and this is a random statement but

It's weird when you hear two people arguing (Jason and Yelena. It's Jason and Yelena) and they switch languages mid-sentence. Multiple times. And it's weirder when you can follow the argument.

Which brings me to my point and I know it's been asked before but I'm asking again:

Other than English, what languages do you speak? I'm only claiming fluency in 12. Yes, I realize that's a brag. But I blame Bruce.

I'm willing to admit I probably shouldn't have bothered, but I really thought the jeep was better at handling things like a little cold weather now.

It's the start of the first quarter, you're still finishing up Q4, so of course the day is back-to-back meetings. Smash-cut to the end of it all, you finally get a chance to check your phone for anything non-work related and—would you look at that?

This is a pretty inconvenient time for heating to be busted in the classrooms.

I felt compelled to start something in the new year to challenge myself that isn’t academic so I’m taking a martial arts class after school. Too late to include that on any college applications but that’s okay, telling myself not everything has to be for the purpose of reaching that goal. I should be hearing back from one. Any day now.

It's cold. and I'm glad suddenly I don't drive since even just walking down to the comic shop today I could barely see an inch ahead and fell on my ass twice.

Christmas was...not as bad as I thought it might turn out. Thanks to those who came to do cookies. I feel less alone here. That helps a lot.

I need to get out of this crappy headspace. Thinking about making christmas/Chanukkah/whatever you celebrate- cookies if anyone wants to join?

For those still in the city...

Matt and I have been focusing on the noise/sonic disruptor shit on our patrols. It's stronger in some places than others. We've been trying to pinpoint it and there's a few target areas.

Given how it's affecting folks, pretty sure it's some type of sonic disruptor device. [insert list of types of devices and suggested means of disabling/destructing them]


Here's where we need help:

The goal is to have several synchronized strike teams hit all possible locations tonight (28th-29th overnight) and take out the evil vuvuzelas.

So, any volunteers? (Those of you under 18 - get permission from your guardian before signing up .)


Full disclosure, this is not a zero-risk operation. We'll need all types of skills - getaway drivers, fighters, tech folks, comms, explosives... so if you're in, we can find you a job.


[OOC: anyone who wants their char to be involved can volunteer, feel free to make up teams, talk about specific sonic devices etc. I'm doing some handwaving here. There will be as many areas to hit as we have 'strike teams'. Coulson's thinking 2-3 people per team. No one goes solo.

Thanks to everyone who helped out last night. It looks like we were successful knocking out the noise disruptors that were causing so many problems for our folks. It looks like things have calmed down significantly.

I got my girls out of the city, but my suit keeps hitting critical failure as I try to fly over the city. All other attempts to regain entry have been unsuccessful.

I can help manage people and supplies outside of the town, I just need to know who is out here and where you are. At the very least I can make sure the people out here are taken care of and try to get supplies through the inside maybe.

Since we've had a few new arrivals, I figured it'd be worth it for me to tell folks what I do here. I run a a bit of a consulting firm, that draws on the talents of many of our residents. Consider it an unofficial loose network of superheroes, do-gooders, and vigilantes.

We keep tabs on local chatter from law enforcement and the like and help out where possible, doing what we can to help get clean up the city and make it safer.
