James Potter What is your full name?: James Fleamont Potter What do you like to be called?: James When is your birthday?: 27 March What is your favourite colour?: Red What is your favourite time of year?: They're all good. Summer, I guess? What are your favourite activities?: Having adventures, building forts. We built a treehouse last summer, me and my friends, but then they had to move away and now someone else has got the house so we can't go up anymore. I was thinking we could build one in our garden, but the tree's not big enough yet. Charles said we could build one on the ground more like a shed, but that's boring. He's a bit boring, but he hasn't moved away yet, so we still hang out. The house four down's just got sold. I hope they have kids or I'll have to spend my summers with just Charles forever. At least if there's another kid we can be three or we can ditch Charles, you know? Then again, maybe now I'll meet proper wizard people my own age and I won't need Charles or that new kid! What’s your family like? Do you have any brothers or sisters?: I have the best family. It's just Mum and Dad and me, but we don't need anyone else. My dad was a Gryffindor and I will be too. Mum was a Ravenclaw but that's definitely not where I'll end up. Books aren't really my thing. Mum's tried a lot, but I don't much see the point. I want to play Quidditch like my dad did and have adventures and such. What kind of books do you like to read?: Imaginary ones. Or Quidditch ones, I guess. They're fine. Mum bought me a book about creatures, and that was cool for about five minutes and then I got bored. And then she got me one about the tombs over in Egypt. That lasted maybe half an hour. Those poor muggles had no idea what they were walking into. Those curses, mates. Do you collect anything?: I have a world famous Chocolate Frog card collection! Nothing else, really. I mean, you go to the beach and you sort of have to pick up rocks and bits of glass and stuff, but you don't keep it. What are you looking forward to about Hogwarts?: Learning to do proper magic on purpose. I mean it's fine I can do some stuff without a wand, but it's a bit rubbish compared to what Mum and Dad can do. And making magic friends I don't have to hide stuff from, that's going to be brilliant. And playing Quidditch, obviously. Dad's told me a lot about the Gryffindor dorms and I look forward to seeing that a lot, too. I imagine it's changed a bit since he's been there, it's been forever. When you were younger, what was your favourite thing to play with?: I don't know, I don't remember. Oh, you know what I just remembered comics. Martin had a few. I read those books, but they don't feel much like books, do they? Anyway, we played on bicicbisy bycicles? Anyway, on those. Still do sometimes. There was a chap's name was Nicholas who had Action Man figures and we played with those for a while, but he got boring. He'd have adventures but it's more fun to get on bikes and have them ourselves, you know?
