Derek sighed again, though he didn't hesitate to help Stiles stay upright in the shower. This much was routine: Derek reached up and scrubbed a hand through Stiles' hair as the water poured over them both. He did want to touch Stiles - he did enjoy it, and it was a comfort that hooked him deep in his gut. But...
"You didn't run," he said in a low voice as he tipped his head under the water, running his hand over his neck to start scrubbing away flecks of dried blood. "That made all the difference. You...you've earned a break from being touched, if that's what you want." Derek meant it sincerely; he wouldn't even be doing much more than sleeping for the next few days. It would've been better having Stiles close throughout, but the fact that Stiles hadn't run had likely saved Derek's life. He might've just fallen asleep in the house, claw lodged in his chest.
