Re: 6th
Derek was already in Stiles' old room, collecting clothing and books and little things in the locked cabinet when he heard Stiles' question - and everything promptly fell on the floor as Derek damn near stumbled. Of all the things...Stiles had fought against the shower for weeks, though a lot of it hadn't been heated arguments (and a few of the comments had made Derek snort). It was just...unbelievable that Stiles would offer.
Maybe it was the new room. Maybe Stiles felt like he owed something to Derek. That was fine; it would be easier to shower together, and maybe Stiles could help where Derek couldn't reach. Derek sighed, wishing he'd be more alert for it - who knew when Stiles would freely offer this again, if ever?
He quickly collected Stiles' things and put them in the new room - it had a large window looking out into the back, a reading nook set into the window sill. It wasn't that large, but it had a bed with an actual frame and a small set of drawers. Not only that - it had a bathroom of its own. Nothing special (and no door) but it was a level of autonomy far above what Stiles was used to.
The significant drawback, of course, would be the door connecting it to Derek's room. There were still hooks in the wall for chains and cuffs as well, but that was a given in any room. Clearing his throat, Derek deposited everything and returned to the kitchen, feeling unsteady in a way that was entirely due to his exhaustion. "Of course," he said in a low voice, not quite meeting Stiles' eyes. "Whenever you're done."
