The vampire made a note to ask Ren what he thought someone like him could possibly be meant to do with a slave at all later, but for now? He supposed cleaning and cutting was sufficient use. He nodded toward some fresh fish and an assortment of vegetables.
"That would be welcome aid," he said simply, going back to test the broth and the flavors of it as they built. Realizing, offhandedly really, that he hadn't introduced himself, Kenshin spoke once more as he added a touch of garlic to the simmering broth.
"I suppose as I am to be your master..." By all the gods that existed, those words tasted strange on his lips. "...I should give you my name as well. I am Himura Kenshin, though I imagine history remembers me by my title." If she didn't know, it would be pointless to keep her in the dark as most referred to him as such, save perhaps Ren who tended to call him by his actual name. If she did, well, there would be less explaining required.
