Who: Rey and Luke Where: Kylo's home When: Backdated to last week, 2/9 What: Breaking Rey's brain Rating: Probably pretty tame
Luke's world had been flipped upside down in a matter of days. The work that he'd done on his now-deceased teacher's farm had been physically difficult labor, and the old man had been a tough instructor once he'd noticed his young farmhand's abundant natural talent. Luke was used to living a challenging life, but this... Surviving in a place that was so thick with darkness would perhaps be the most difficult thing he'd ever done. Surviving and refusing to be turned to the Dark Side. He had stubbornly declared to his Mistress and to the man she served that he wouldn't be turned, and he was hellbent on keeping that promise to himself and to Master Ores. The shame from that first punishment reminded him of the place he was in right now. He tried to quell the anger he felt from the memory of it, but that only made it more impossible to ignore.
The Knights that lived in the large estate, however, were making that promise exceedingly hard for him to keep. They'd all stared at him during his first days here, some with amusement and others in disbelief. From what Luke could suss out from what they and his mistress were willing to tell him along with the thoughts he could hear from the less trained ones, he looked like an enemy that Kylo Ren had recently defeated. He guessed it was possible that he'd been related to this other mage; he knew nothing about his parents or where he'd been born. All he knew was the farm and the people who served Kader Ores along with the old man himself. Still, it felt like he was missing something important, maybe the most important piece of the puzzle, and that bothered him.
Unable to sleep, he'd gotten up early that day, finding an empty room where the sun poured through one of the windows. It was hard to find even the slightest trace of light, figuratively anyway, in this place, and Luke had been frustrated with his inability to center himself and find the calm that his teacher had guided him to through the early days of his training in meditation. Kneeling down in the light, he decided now was as good a time as any to try again. Closing his eyes, Luke sought that calm, holding on to the physical manifestation of the light from the window as he tried his hardest to internalize it with little success. A frustrated sigh escaped his lips.
