"Legal trouble? Don't worry, I've learned my lesson. I try to stay on the law's good side now," she teased back, even if there was truth behind her words.
Her head leaned in to his touch, his soft skin warm against her cheek. She couldn't help but watch in odd amazement as he seemed to stumble over his words. He always seemed so composed to her, it wasn't possible that he could be nervous. Was it? She didn't know how to handle nervous. The men in her past took, it was always something so sure and certain.
This kiss was gentle, hesitant, as if she was precious and he didn't want to ruin something. She had never gotten a kiss like this before. She was so utterly terrified of ruining it. Before he could say anything else she ran her hand through his hair, pressing her nose against his and smiling, letting him know it was ok.
She bit her lip gently before turning her head, kissing him gently like she had dreamed of doing since she was five. This was infinitely better. This took her breath away.
