RP: How did I get here?

Charlie glared at the bars of the cell he'd been shut up in. The cell she had let them throw him into. He was so stupid.
All he had wanted to do was talk to Hestia- face to face- a last ditch effort to make things right and get his friend back. He hated this, that they hadn't even talked in months, wondering what he had done wrong (or, for that matter, if he hadn't done everything wrong). But now, for the first time he was beginning to realize that this wasn't his fault. She'd done this before when they had left school and he'd taken the blame for that too. The only difference was it hadn't been so drastic or long term.
Of course not, he thought almost bitterly, we had Tonks then to make everything better. The thought made him yell out in the direction his captors had retreated in and, realizing he would get no answer, he turned and punched the wall behind him, an unpleasant cracking sound coming with it.
"Fuck," he hissed through gritted teeth as the pain shot through his hand. Holding it against him he let himself slide down the wall until he was sitting on the floor.
Verity had gone to work today. It had been his perfect chance to get out of the flat and he couldn't deny that since Regina had owled him he'd been contemplating going to see Hestia for himself, tired of hoping that she would eventually come around. He wasn't overly surprised when the "guards" turned him away, he'd planned from the very beginning to argue about it but they wouldn't even tell him she couldn't take a single minute to just see him.
He was willing to admit that trying to sneak in instead had been a dumb idea and the only explanation he could tell himself was insanity. He had been questioning his mental health lately. Something in his head had definitely snapped at some point though and he knew that if he could just talk to her then it would somehow all be better.
She'd had him thrown into jail. Obviously he didn't know her that well at all.
What was he supposed to do now? He did the only thing he could. He sat and tried to ignore the stench and how small the cell was and the fact that there was no air here. All too suddenly he realized that there was a lot of animosity from his...fellow prisoners?
