Pansy rolled her eyes in exasperation of the new taxes. "I know. Dare I say it, but the school was better off when Dumbledore was running it." It was almost painful to say it, but she did think it was true. Dumbledore had been an extraordinary Headmaster, even if Pansy had never particularly cared for him.
Right now, more than ever before, Pansy truly hated the limitations that society impressed upon relationships between upstanding Purebloods. Though she was content to just sit and talk and eat cake with Theo, she wanted more.
Pansy watched as he thought over her question, wondering what he could possibly need to take time to think about. She realized with a jolt that he'd probably often been asked intrusive questions about Peter because of the scandal surrounding his mysterious appearance into the world.
"Ah, two. Goodness, I was only ten when Nicholas turned two, and it was the year before I went to Hogwarts. I can hardly believe he's already eleven," she said on a sigh. Though she had still been a child when Nicholas was born, she'd been more of a mother to him than their own mother had.
"You know," Pansy said softly, glancing up at Theo through her eyelashes, "I was thinking that maybe the next time we go out, we could bring Peter along, as well." She wanted to make it clear to Theo that it didn't bother her that he was a father.
