He didn't offer, and she wouldn't ask that he leave, which was perfectly fine with her. At his question, she smiled with pride. "Yes, eleven." She could hardly believe that eleven years ago she'd held that tiny baby in her arms and began life as a big sister, though she certainly felt her role in his life had been much more significant than that of a sister.
Pansy's smile softened, warmed as his fingers laced with hers. There really wasn't any shyness or awkwardness between them, just the hesitancy that their status in society demanded. And, Pansy thought, there really was no reason to rush things with Theo. She felt confident that if things continued on as well as they had been, when they finally did take those bigger steps, they would have a wonderful foundation on which to build a lasting relationship.
"He did, yes," Pansy answered with a nod. "Except for having his birthday a month early so to be able to go to Hogwarts already." She shook her head slightly, as though exasperated with even the thought of Hogwarts. "Oh, but I'm being terribly rude. Would you like anything to drink?"
