Natalie winced humorously. "Ah yes, but there are ways to be fashionable in winter. As a writer for Witch Weekly, you should never be seen in bulky sweaters," she teased.
Returning the wicked smirk, Natalie said, "Absolutely. Hopefully it will be here soon. We won't start the rum without the food." It was one thing to drink with a woman she was insanely attracted to, it was another to drink with her on an empty stomach and risk a highly uncomfortable and unnecessary hangover.
The quick, gentle, almost chaste kiss sent her system on fire. She licked her lips when Kay pulled away, trying to remember why it wouldn't be a good idea to pull her back and ravish that delectable mouth again. It was doomed to be a constant struggle.
She heard the car pull up, felt the change in the wards as the delivery person walked to the door. Smiling at Kay, slightly relieved to have a potentially awkward moment avoided, she walked backward, around the side of the house. She returned a minute later with two bags of food and plopped down on the blanket, patting the spot next to her.
"Oh, first, could you get the rum and coke?" she asked, having forgotten that it was still sitting on the patio table.
