She gave him a smile that was a bit forced, but she didn't really believe him. "And here I thought she was starting to warm up to me," she mentioned very quietly. Verity had, in truth, been to more of those dinners that Charlie had been avoiding than Charlie had been. George would invite her and it was an easy meal and although she had to deal with glares from Ginny and strange looks from Romilda, eventually things had started to warm.
She looked up through her lashes when he affirmed her and smiled. "Yeah?" she asked, the smile growing slowly. They hadn't really talked about it but Verity had always had the impression that Charlie was very close to Bill. "Thanks."
Verity gave a small laugh and shook her head before going off to the restroom to groom. When she came back out she was feeling much better- her glamours were updated, her hair was in order, she'd even brushed her teeth.
