Lisa smiled at the mention of Mitzy planning a huge feast at Lisa's return. It sounded typical of her, which gave Lisa some comfort. While she knew things would never fully return to normal, she hoped that things could somewhat. Familiarity was all Lisa had to cling to now.
Her smile faded at the mention of Terry. She'd hoped he wouldn't be brought up in person quite so soon. In owls, it was much easier to hide the guilt that she felt in not knowing where he was. In person, however. "No," she answered, trying to hide her initial reaction. "No, I haven't. I plan to owl him before I go to my dad's."
That wasn't saying too much, was it? She pursed her lips together gently and nodded when Mandy suggested the sitting room. Before Lisa could follow her, though, Mandy pulled her in. Her eyes moved around the sitting room. More familiarity rushed over her as she looked through the room. It looked just like Lisa remembered it. Except for one thing. Her eyes landed on the painting and studied it for a few moments.
