"Very true," Mandy agreed. She didn't feel it pertinent to tell her that she didn't really read the Prophet often. Mostly it just irritated her, so she stayed away from it.
"Ahhh," Mandy made a noise of understanding. "It would be so much simpler to just take a picture and have them do a portrait from the picture, rather than forcing young children to sit still for that long."
Mandy let out an appreciative laugh. "You've got it about right. They really are ancient and mostly male. In fact, I think there's only one other female portraitist in Britain, but she unofficially retired about five years ago. And, you're right, before too long I'll probably be the primary portraitist in Britain."
Mandy bit into her sandwich, washed it down with butterbeer. "True. So what about you? Do you have hopes of another avenue, or just to expand in what you write with Witch Weekly and the Prophet?"
