Even with the Pixie newly opened up and booming for business, Kat wasn't about to abandon the good ol' Leaky for people-watching and gossip-mongering. Well, not completely. And as she finally covered her rent for the month, she decided an actual meal there wouldn't hurt.
It was full up, which was both a good and a bad thing. More to listen to, but harder to focus on. She swooped by the bar for a butterbeer -- faster service -- and made a beeline for the only empty table she saw.
She reached it at the same moment as another woman. She smiled automatically in return. "Oh, no, I'm not." She glanced around, and yes, this was the last table. "Busy day. If you're not meeting someone, you want to share a table? Else one of us will end up over there." She emphasized the last two words and tilted her head toward the rather obnoxious kid.
