Summary: Verity breaks her rule.
It had been a strange couple of weeks. She'd been actively ignoring anything that had to do with her rendezvous with her ex, even if she hadn't seemed able to let go while she was asleep (an occurrence's which she blamed on 'frustration' and stress.) On top of that she'd actually spent time wondering and worrying about Warrington, who had most definitely not owl'd after their date. And then there was the dinner at the Burrow. She wasn't sure she really wanted to think about it. Well- she did, but only certain parts. The simple fact that she'd been upset, angry, she didn't know what- about Charlie's date was alarming to say the least. And that they'd gone on to fight... she didn't like it much at all. More than once she'd had the urge to go see him or at least owl, but with him living with Miss Fawcett, she wasn't entirely keen on that idea. But the dinner hadn't been close to all bad. Aside from Charlie and the awkward feeling of being in an entirely new situation, she'd actually enjoyed herself. And her gift from George put a smile on her face any time she thought about it.
George.
Now that was a topic worth dwelling on. She still wasn't positive what exactly was going on between them or what she even wanted to. She was ecstatic that he was back in her life and she really couldn't be happier, even if it was tinged with a bit of sadness without Fred. Everything with Charlie and Charles- a strange and almost frightening coincidence in names- had her cautious though. She was fairly certain she wasn't ready to settle into an exclusive relationship right now. But did George feel the same? Did he understand that that was how she felt? Would it effect their friendship negatively? Or their working relationship? These were the sort of questions that plagued her as she made good use of the mini-dance studio Bee had installed in her flat. The extra excerise felt amazing and though the questions weren't resolved, she felt much more relaxed.
One thing had come of it though- she realised that she was missing George and decided to owl him- even if it was against her policy, making a mental note to also owl Miles about the party (and Daphne) soon as well.
Dear George,
How are you? I can't believe it's been two weeks since I've talked to you last (I suppose I'm getting spoiled, seeing you more often.) I wanted to thank you again for the honor of adding me as your partner on the shop. I don't think I need to tell you again how much it means to me.
So what have you been up to? Anything overly exciting?
There were a couple of things that I wanted to talk to you about regarding the shop, if you get a chance.
I really hope everything is going well and that I hear from you soon!
Fondly,
Verity
