Who: Ted Tonks and Alice Longbottom When: 1/21, evening time around supper Where: A days walk from St. Mungo's in a heavily wooded area What: Ted and a group set out to find Alice Rated: TBD
He wasn't exactly sure how far out Alice would be and in what condition she would be to walk back to the camp so he'd talked a group of at least fifteen into searching the woods with him. Not knowing what they were going to find and just going on the sheer idea that there was a witch lost somewhere in the cold without magic.
Without his wand Ted had taken up a torch for light and was now walking through the cold, his leg muscles aching from the strain of so much movement and the less then pleasant weather. He'd been looking for nearly two hours now and was beginning to give up hope that they would find anyone. Maybe she just wasn't in this area. But of course he'd jumped the gun and managed to fill the other volunteers head with the idea she was. Surely she could be as far as he was from St. Mungo's even with a broken leg. Very practical indeed.
He was just starting to get downhearted when he spotted a trail in the snow almost like someone had been dragging something. Ted's stomach leaped into his throat, either he was really lucky or about to get torn apart by some animal. Taking a few steps forward he raised his torch higher to get a better view. Surely if she was there he would hear something? She couldn't have died in those three hours it had taken to find her...could she?
He shook the thought from his head when he felt a tap on his shoulder. Nearly jumping out of his boots he swung around to see one of the other volunteers. The man motioned behind him and waited a second for Ted to get his barrings.
"We found someone." he explained.
Ted was rushing past him on worn out legs in the direction pointed before the man could even explain if it was a woman or not. It had to be Alice, who else would be out in the woods in this weather. He rounded a mass of trees and spotted a group huddled around someone.
He approached slowly, lump in his throat, hoping she was still alive. "Alice?"
