"Only you would think that was a compliment," James replied dryly. "And stop being such a girl. I barely touched you."
"That is exactly what I'm asking, Padfoot." He had to admit, Sirius was right. It was a good distraction for the both of them, and him too, because he was going to be betting on the outcome. He wondered if he could talk Remus into taking that bet.
"Yeah, me too," James admitted, picking up his wand. It didn't work all that well, but he felt naked without it. "And it'll have to be an old-fashioned fist fight if we do run into anyone."
Pulling open the door, he strode out into the hallway. The worst part was, they were going to have to walk to Diagon Alley. James' apparating was shaky at best, and he didn't trust it, especially side-along.
