The bookstore was fairly busy that Friday, and Julia had stayed late to take some inventory on the jewelry since she was unable to do so while the store was open. She didn't mind, since she loved her job, but it did mean that it would be dark outside when she would be finally able to leave.
Once the stock taking was done, she clocked out, turning off the lights and exiting out the main entrance. Once she was outside, she looked over her shoulder, and was delighted to see John sitting on one of the benches. She gave him a grin, then turned to him once she was done locking the doors.
"Hey! Mind if I join you?" she asked the older man, hoping that he was in the mood for a bit of company.
