The Fall City Daily November 19, 1997 By: Jennifer Dimants
A view of the Patterson Creek. Early yesterday evening the Deputy Sheriff’s office received a call from a jogger who noticed something odd in the water. It was quickly identified as Cora March. The community will know her as the mother of the child who burned in the accidental house fire on the night of Halloween this year. Detective Park, who has been assigned the case, spoke with us briefly. He confirmed that the heavy rains the past couple of weeks have washed away much of the evidence they usually use in cases like these. However, he added, there are no physical signs of a struggle left on her body either. Of course, understanding the incredible loss she has just suffered, parents like myself may be wondering along different lines. When I attempted to frame the conversation like that Detective Park denied that as a possibility. “We looked into that and though she was distraught by her loss, there was no note. She never spoke about considering it to close friends or her husband.” We reached out to Mr. March for comment but didn’t receive a response. |
