The Fall City Daily September 10, 2018 By: Dinah Mite
There was a flurry of police activity Sunday morning. After several months of interviews that already resulted in the arrest of one of our residents for unrelated murders, the Deputy Sheriff’s Department has taken Rhett Wyatt into custody. Upon calling their office they were able to confirm that the arrest was related to the MacTeer murder investigation.
As most people know, Mr. Wyatt was Ms. MacTeer’s co-star in this film and they had a long history of working together in previous films. However, we didn’t see much tension between them prior to Ms. MacTeer’s murder which begs the question if the alleged murder was a crime of passion. The owner of Common Grounds, Raf Valdez, witnessed the arrest in the early morning. He told us, “Mr. Wyatt truly seemed confused by the allegations and he was adamant that he hadn’t killed Ms. MacTeer. He said several times that he wouldn’t hurt her. He was visibly upset as the police were placing him under arrest. He’s been in the shop for months and I’ve never seen him show any kind of violent or dishonest tendencies. I’m really shocked at this turn of events. I honestly hope it isn’t true.” Many people have had similar reactions across social media. @WYATTQUEEN_NUMBER1 tells twitter, “NO! This is not happening. NOT HAPPENING. They must be wrong. Rhett Wyatt is a PURE CINNAMON ROLL!” For those of you not up on internet slang, the phrase cinnamon roll is an expression commonly used for things people love that are innocent of any wrongdoing. However, the Deputy Sheriff's Department stands firm in their decision to arrest the movie star. Deputy Sheriff Emilia Wolfe explained, “Last week we had warrants to check wardrobes of people who had been staying at the Bellowes Inn along with people who were known to have left the party and gone to the rooms at the Inn the night of the murder. Among those warrants was one for Mr. Wyatt’s clothing, some of which he had at his home in Henley Park, and another set that was being prepared to be donated in the storage unit. In the storage unit we found a shirt of his with what appeared to be blood. The lab confirmed that it was a match for Ms. MacTeer’s blood. That’s all we can share at the moment. ” |
