Re: 8:00am Blanchard Drug: Michelle and June
"One moment please, I will get the records for you."
Michelle walked to the lab's computer, trying to regain her composure. Nolan... Why did the police have a warrant about her nephew? She loved the boy like her own son, the son she never had. He reminded her of Gus so much. Cheering for Nolan at the football games brought her back in time to her teenage years when she would cheer for Gus, sparkle in her eyes, amazed by his happiness on the field.
She gnawed on her fingers as the computer retrieved the requested information. Nolan could not be involved. There had to be a mistake. He had a prescription for hydrocodone because of a knee injury, there was no crime there. Most athletes got injured at some point in time. Right?
"Here," she said as she took the printed records and handed them to Officer June Rogers. "For the record, Nolan MacLaver is my nephew. He played for the school football team. Quarterback. Had a knee injury, that's all. I mean, you know how it is with athletes, right?" She was babbling, but she could not hand out the records stating that her dear Nolan had a prescription for the pill that they were investigating in a murder case without giving some context.
