COUPLE 3 get into a fight early on and leave the dance floor. Some people just aren’t early birds. VOLUNTEER 1 is kicked out of the competition (and by extension, so is their dancing partner) for trying to sabotage a COUPLE 4. VOLUNTEER 2’s heel breaks and they have to use their emergency pass to run and get new shoes. Do they make it back in time? Up to you! VOLUNTEER 3 freezes when SONG OF THEIR CHOICE comes on. It reminds them of a moment in time that they associate strongly with that song. Their mood is soured. Near the end of the competition, VOLUNTEER 11 almost collapses, but their partner manages to flag down a ref and together, they drag them to the First Aid Station. VOLUNTEER 4 is nearly home when they get a call from VOLUNTEER 5 saying that they need a ride home. GUS ARQUETTE kisses their partner at one point, prompting groans and EWWWWs from an immature dancer nearby. VOLUNTEER 7 becomes annoyed with their shoes and kicks them off, sending them into a crowd of spectators. There’s a bit of a party foul when SPECTATOR VOLUNTEER 8’s drink is hit in the process. COUPLE VOLUNTEER 4 pull off as sick as fuck dance move during SONG OF THEIR CHOICE. The only thing is, in its execution they stop touching and HUGH CHRISTIAN shows no mercy, blowing the horn and disqualifying them. VOLUNTEER 8 is more interested in singing all the bangers they know rather than dancing. Unlike every other party, this seems to boost morale rather than be discouraged, and at a bleak hour, they manage to get quite a few people to join in to the tune of SONG OF THEIR CHOICE Towards the end of the night, VOLUNTEER 9 falls asleep while dancing, getting both them and their partner disqualified. |
• The theme this year, as it is every year, is THROUGH THE AGES People are encouraged to dress as an era of their choice, but this isn’t required! • People generally start SHOWING UP AT 4 AM so that they can go through the process of signing in, registering, getting their numbers, etc. Sorry about it. All persons NEED A PARTNER in order to sign up. The cost to put yourself into the dance marathon is FIFTY DOLLARS. This goes into the pool, and the winning couple at the end of the night split it! Anything that is made as a SEPARATE DONATION, including any bets that may be made for fun (including who your character thinks will win vs. who will lose, and in what hour), will not go to the winners, and will strictly go to the Fire Department. Only the Ticket Earnings will be given to the winners. There is also a COSTUME CONTEST for the best dressed couple of the event! There is no cash prize, but there IS a cute trophy! There are THREE JUDGES, EXCLUDING BASMA, who will be making sure all participants are following the rules. If your character knows how to roller skate, she would encourage them to do so today. She’ll be seen zipping around on her own set of roller skates, making sure everything is going smoothly. EVERY FIVE HOURS, at the top of the hour, something called THE RUN AROUND takes place. Dancers are expected to run the perimeter of the dance floor. The last person to make it across the red line is eliminated along with their partner Several Businesses, including VOLUNTEER BELOW have a booths set up for various things, both for the participants during their breaks and for spectators. Since this is such a long contest, SPECTATORS ARE FREE TO COME AND GO! Whether it’s to stop by and cheer on their friends, or to heckle or WHATEVER, have fun! EACH "MUSICAL ERA" LASTS APPROXIMATELY 2.6 HOURS THE LAST COUPLE STANDING will win! This will be determined by rolls, which you can read more about in the specified header below. |
