The Fall City Daily May 17, 2018 By: Dinah Mite
Some would blame it on our unexpected guests in the film crew and their followers for draining our beloved town of its resources. Some would call it an act of God that we experience our first power outage since the last meer weeks after The Spring Faire was cleaned up and put away until next year. All we know for sure is as the clock struck 9pm on Sunday, with a terrible crash we lost all power town-wide. Mother’s day festivities were surely ended earlier than expected. Mitzi’s late night customers were left to fend for themselves while generators were put into place and powered on for our enjoyment, along with our welfare.
Thanks to quick thinking, both the Doctor’s and the Veterinary offices were both never left in the dark, preplanning paying off as their electric didn’t waiver more than a flicker. Those in their care were surely in the best of hands during the dark nights. Thunderous waves of lightning around our small town could be drowned out by libations and high spirits served up by the Mayweathers at Ardente, though Wanderlust could not escape the wraith of an old oak tree as their building is temporarily closed due an impromptu skylight. Many thanks again to those quick thinking business to offer us shelter and a midnight snack through the extended darkness. A special accommodation being extended to Wayne King and the rest of the officers on Search and Rescue through the storm. Many who were wearily lost were found onto the right path again, though your cars may take a couple days to dig off the side of the road. Let this storm serve as a reminded to all of us to stock our pantries and order our generators ASAP before bad luck and weather befall us again. |
