Who: Ash and Lyra Where: Great Hall first and then elsewhere When: Backdated to 12/8, around lunch What: Birthday surprises Rating: tbd
Lyra had been excited about this birthday. In the eyes of the wizarding world, she was finally legal and there was no longer a ban on her magic when away from school. That meant that this winter was going to be a lot more fun than previous ones for sure. Beyond that though, she might have been a bit curious and excited to see if Ash would send her anything. The two of them had been dating... sort of. They'd been on two real dates, and about a handful of times he'd gone out with her in the evenings to go look for magical creatures. He'd gone to protect her, but it usually ended up with both of them quite distracted instead.
Bella had just mentioned something when she saw the daily owl post appear, flying through. She'd been hoping for her da's great horned owl in the group, but instead she saw a snowy one drop off a package for her. Once she'd fed a small piece of bacon to the bird in thanks, she looked at the package curiously before opening it. What first caught her eye was the pendant. Simple but gorgeous, she stared at the way it seemed to glow in the light. Smiling, she immediately slipped it on, gently touching it as it laid right above her breasts.
The feather was the next thing she spotted and knew immediately what it was. She ran a single finger up the spine carefully and smiled wide. It was a phoenix feather. It wasn't large enough to be a quill, but it seemed perfect for what came to mind. She was quick to transfigure the wrapping into a red leather cord, Lyra made quick work of wrapping it into her hair so it seemed almost natural in the dark locks.
When the teen girl read the note that came with it though, color rose to her cheeks. Lyra could imagine him leaning down and pressing a soft kiss to her skin where the pendant lay, and as the feather brushed lightly over her neck she could only imagine Ash's warm hand sliding to cup it and pull her close. There was no question who the gifts were from. Only a few people knew of her love of the phoenix, and even less would write something so personal. It just seemed exactly like Ash though.
Immediately, she glanced over to the boy and saw him watching and smirking. Oh he knew that he was probably the best gift giver around. Smiling back at him and making sure that their eyes met, Lyra stood up and with a quick and subtle motion towards the door with her head, she started out, hoping that he would follow.
