"I don't get you in any special way, Sadie, I hardly know you right? I mean, we didn't really know each other before I came back to school, and you're more than capable of finding a friend, someone closer to your own age, who can understand you better in a way I can't. Right? I mean, don't get too held up on me understanding you--plenty do. You're not alone in all that you go through."
Peter smiled, trying to be consoling, but then he saw a tear falling down her cheek, and a brow was raised before he moved closer towards her, watching her as she turned to talk to him. He reached a thumb up to brush away any lingering tears and he just shook his head, "Something's going on with you, nad it's not just animals. What's wrong Sadie? Are you okay? You can talk to me, you know, about anything really."
He smiled staring back at her, resting his hand softly against her cheek once more, though this time it was far more intentional.
