Blushing at her own admittance, Sadie freaked out a little internally. She couldn't tell Peter her father's secret, but it did have a big part in why she gave such devotion to animals. Instead, she let her head lean into his stroke a little more and let him think that was why she'd paused before answering. After all, it was part of her pause. "I find that their eyes tell you everything you need to know about them. Some are mistreated or threatened, depending on the atmosphere they live in. They're sad and really, many of them just want to give love and kindness. All they want in return is the same. At least that's what I've noticed of all the animals accustomed to humans."
Sighing at his question about when she thought it started, Sadie smiled and shrugged. Aside from her father, they'd always had lets. She couldn't remember a time in her past where there weren't animals around her. "Since the day I was born, maybe? I don't know. I've just always had animals in my life one way or another. What about you and science and potions? When did your obsession start for that?"
Setting her bucket down, Sadie pulled at her hair and fixed her ponytail. She thought about his question and her interactions before answering. "Well... I think a lot of it has to do with the amount of time you spend with them and if they're accustomed to humans. I would definitely say that some of the magical creatures understand and can interact with us more once they've established a relationship, but I think non/magical creatures can do the same, just at a different level... If that makes any sense."
