"Well, I can feel a breeze, so we don't have a storm coming," Ash commented and moved past some more brush. He was relatively athletic, as one could not keep a body of his physique without being physically active. He was surprised when she offered her hand, figuring that maybe he'd missed something and she caught it. It wouldn't surprise him, but it would kind of that he'd missed something that might have been pretty obvious.
He took her hand, feeling the warmth from her skin against his own. Ash followed her example, moving quietly and carefully until the figure came into view. It wasn't the most beautiful of birds, but the vibrant feathers appeared surprisingly vivid in the dark. He was standing close to her now. She still smelled of the ocean from when they'd gone swimming earlier that day. It was nice. Ocean and something else.
"Yeah," he said somewhat absently, not necessarily fascinated by the birds, but enjoying the light scent of salt in Lyra's hair and the quietness of the atmosphere, even though there was plenty of wildlife ahead. He whispered into her ear, still holding her hand, "So, what are you going to do now?"
