This was actually kind of fun having someone else. Lyra just hoped that it wasn't boring ash to tears yet. He didn't quite take her as the type to just go out hiking for fun on average. But he did seem like he was honestly trying. She only hoped the the birds would make up for anything that just didnt seem quite so fun.
"We're looking for their nesting grounds. If we're lucky, we'll be able to see them up close with them and their young. Plus they tend not to cry loudly unless there's a chance of rain." Of course, there might be rain in the forecast as she heard the distinct cry nearby. Almost giddy, she reached out to grab Ash's hand as she turned left. "Come on. over here."
As she led the other boy, she suddenly moved much slower and more carefully. Before them laid the Augury's cousin. Unlike the augury, their plumage was a much more vibrant tropical green. Their nests though were the same teardrop shape and it looked like the creatures were quite nocturnal and active. "There has to be dozens of them..."
