"It was never fair, the way they leaned on you to control me," Hunter said, looking into his sister's eyes, as he brushed back a stray wisp of her hair. It always seemed to be falling in front of her eyes, but that just gave him another excuse to touch her. It would have looked like exactly the same way he'd always touched her, unless someone was looking very closely. Still, he pulled his hand back down to his side, rather than risk falling into a more intimate touch.
"I should have just followed along, although it did get us an empty house and some privacy this summer, so I suppose it wasn't for nothing. This school year has been... challenging for me, but it's taken a wonderful turn," he said, with an ethereal smile.
