Misha set his glass down and looked into Bella's eyes. Even he didn't understand his feelings toward her, but it had become more and more clear as time passed that she wasn't just a student to flirt with or a potential lay. The idea terrified him, but the idea of just standing back and losing it all scared him just as much.
"Even if I were just your teacher, I would want you to safe and happy, Bella," he said, telling her the truth. As much as he joked about being a halfassed teacher, Misha actually cared about most of his kids.
"But that's not why I did it."
He looked away for a moment, needing to focus on anything but Bella's face and the way his heart was pounding os hard in his chest that it actually hurt.
"I don't know..." he said, and edge of frustration to his voice.
"What can I be to you? What can you be to me, when you're promised to him? And I'm your teacher?!"
