Dance Floor: Tobias and Belle
"We can look to inspire them to seek more in their lives than just marriage to a so-called proper husband. They are not unintelligent, as you said. They simply do not know to want more." That seemed to be what he was saying anyway, and while she had never been anything but ambitious and clever, she guessed that if she had been raised by her mama's parents she would not be the same as she was now. Society was interesting to her- the standards that were set forth were ones that she could not really stand to live by, and yet in many ways it tied her just as it did the women who lived the traditional way.
A grin mirrored his as she allowed him to guide her out of the crowd, waving to the friends she had wandered from when he proposed to dance. She hoped they would all find as pleasant company as she had this evening, though she was relatively sure that she had monopolized the most interesting man in the room at least. There were other Ravenclaw boys around though, and hopefully some others that could catch the interest of the girls she had been conversing with.
"I hope that Bailey and the others find company as well. I would not wish them to have to spend their evening alone, when I am so intrigued by my own partner for the night."
The trip to the stairs and toward the Astronomy tower was much shorter than she remembered, though she guessed that hurrying and the amusing conversation and company would do things like that. She was glad of it really, since he had managed to catch her interest in ways that no other man in the school had.
