Ophelia and Alexei
Ophelia had never been a fan of gatherings like this. There was far too much by way of risk. Risk of touching, risk of having to talk. None of it made a holiday fun for her. At least her costume covered most of her skin, only leaving painted hands and painted face bare to the world. Even her vibrant hair was covered. She stood outside the Great Hall, staring at the door as though it was a snake- in fact with more dread. She liked snakes. Laertes had one that was always with him and so she had become accustomed to them.
Her eyes flicked to the side, taking in the people walking as though going to something like this was easy. To most it was no big deal. It was just another party. She couldn't do this though. She couldn't socialize like her classmates, and she could not dance without a fear of accidental contact. It was too much. She didn't want to be here, and she started to turn away from the door, planning to run back in the direction of her dormitory and the safety held within.
