Jackson had taken over in some ways from Narissa, ignoring the fact that he had Arithmancy on Friday and instead heading down to the Slytherin dorms. The blonde sibling allowed him entry to Adrian only after a threatening glare- one that he was pretty certain anyone around her brother would get at this point. Once she was gone though he quietly hugged Adrian and kissed his forehead. It wasn't much really, but it was something he could do for his friend, just being there.
He didn't part from his friend that day, nor did he leave in the evening. While he assumed he probably wasn't welcome by some of the other boys he didn't care. He stayed and when he woke again, found himself still with Adrian.
Adrian hated though that Sissy and Jackson both felt he could not handle the truth coming out… and was slightly embarrassed too at the tension he felt every time he got an owl. He didn't want Sissy or Jackson to know that, to worry. One of the owls had been from Jackson, a box of chocolate truffles. He'd written and heard back from his parents reassuring as best they could. Wallace hadn't written yet, but he expected his mother had written her. And one of the scouts he'd been communicating with wrote him too. While the scout hadn't said anything about his parentage, it was a reminder to Adrian of the increased interest and scrutiny he was going to be under when it became common knowledge. It wasn't as bad as he'd feared, but Adrian was still waiting for the tabloids to start.
Adrian had actually managed to get to his class yesterday, despite Jackson's insistence on staying with him the entire day, skipping his Arithmancy class since Adrian did not study that and going only to Potions class that they shared. Adrian wondered if Professor Stark, his father, would know why… if he would punish Jackson for cutting class or not. Adrian had not wanted to argue with Jackson though… there was enough tension right now without another fight with Jackson. There was a benefit though to Jackson's insistence on being with him, and that was waking up with the scruffy Gryffindor. Adrian might be cautious about the new parameters of their relationship, but he was still seventeen.
Jackson hadn't had any issue with staying with his boyfriend, and his keeping the other company wasn't anything to do with Adrian's handling of the situation so much as him not wanting his friend/lover to feel like he was alone. His world had been tossed into a good deal of upheaval with all of this and it would be better to give him companionship, quiet or not, until he was settled into the new situation. He too was a bit tense when Adrian got owls for the first one or two, but it occurred to him that if tabloid letters were getting through there would have been a lot more, especially with Tony Stark involved. Speaking of the man, Jackson had handled that before going to Adrian- on Thursday really, going at lunch to check what work he would miss by not attending. Foresight usually wasn't a Gryffindor trait, but when it came to Adrian Jackson was a lot more attentive.
A smile curved his lips as Adrian's eyes opened and he leaned to brush a light kiss over his lips. "Good morning. Did you sleep well?" Even with the silencing charms he had set up - they were teenagers after all- he spoke quietly now. Morning wasn't a time to be loud.
"You are supposed to be the one who sleeps in," Adrian murmured, reaching to wrap his hand around the back Jackson's neck, drawing the other boy in for another, longer kiss. He was perhaps delaying starting the day, taking advantage of the fact that they were in his bed, alone, protected by silencing charms.
A teasing smile as Adrian pulled him into another kiss. He would not protest, obviously, and he slid one hand to pull his lover closer to him. He liked the feeling of waking next to the other boy, it was warm and comforting and somehow just right, in his mind. He shifted after a moment to mold his body against Adrian's side, trailing his hands over him lightly.
That was one thing that was easy… when they were together it was easy to be close, to get closer. Kissing Jackson was easy. He was easy to touch. Adrian enjoyed the leisurely kiss they were sharing. It didn't always have to be sex, though they had not kept their hands entirely to themselves last night, but even just… being with him helped ease Adrian's tension somewhat.
Jackson instinctively held Adrian to him, protectively and securely. The other boy was important to him. Vital really. His kisses moved soon to trail along his lover's jawbone and neck, feather light brushes as he shifted again, wanting to reassure Adrian without words that he was there and would always be so.
Adrian wasn't ready to analyze the shift that had happened - from him quietly protecting and supporting Jackson to Jackson's need to protect him now that they were together. Adrian accepted it from his sister only because Narissa had always done it from the time they were toddlers. It was new, between him and Jackson, as was Jackson's apparent sense that he did not deserve a relationship with him. Adrian could only accept that as part of Jackson's general lingering self-loathing over his role in his sister's death. Adrian himself was nothing special.
It wasn't just his sister's death, but his reaction to it. The lingering sense that Adrian hadn't felt he was dependable and reliable- that he flaked out on things he was supposed to do because he was so caught up in his drinking. Right now though that didn't matter. He was with the other boy now and they had each other. That was what mattered. One hand moved back up, catching the nape of Adrian's neck and guiding him again back to his lips, to another real kiss.
Adrian shifted into Jackson as they kissed. They could just keep doing this for the entire morning, although they likely would get up for breakfast. Adrian was conscious about perception. Adrian needed to try to get past the rumors and get back to the usual routines, even with, or especially with the flexibility of the weekend schedule. And he needed to be there for his sister too, and not keep hiding out… but he could make out with Jackson a little longer first.
Jackson was not as conscious of how he was viewed by anyone but those closest to him. That was what mattered to him. Making out with Adrian though was much more fun than going down to breakfast. His hand cupped Adrian's cheek gently, holding him and trying his best to convey that he was there, that he was not going to leave Adrian alone and that if nothing else their personal relationship would not change at all.
It had changed, it would change. But right now they were kissing and that was good. Adrian wasn't inclined to end the kiss yet, though he didn't go further either. It was a nice way to wake up after all. And Jackson was kissable.
Jackson would agree that he was kissable, at least when it came to Adrian. Anyone else did not get the same. Jackson's hand moved to trace over his friend's chest lightly, not so much seductively as in a way that showed he valued the other, wanted to be close and show affection right now.
Adrian knew they couldn't kiss all day, even if he enjoyed it, and it showed in his eyes when he met Jackson's brilliant blue ones. They couldn't stay hiding in his bed forever, as tempting and kissing Jackson was. And it was tempting. Too much had happened this week for that.
Jackson met Adrian's eyes and offered a small smile. "You want to grab some breakfast and maybe fly a bit?" Because it would get them out without having to worry as much about attention on Adrian. It would be good for him to be out without stares, Jackson knew. Making sure that things were as normal and standard as possible.
Adrian nodded. "We will probably need to check in with our H.O.Houses, but we'll probably see at least one of them at breakfast." If not, Adrian could always contact Professor Stark… or Laertes. Adrian's eyes shifted away from Jackson's briefly at the thought of his father. He was going to have to say something about it all, he knew.
"Yeah. I can do that easily enough. I have to hand in yesterday's work anyway." Because his HOH was, of course, Adrian's father. He could figure out someone if they needed an escort too honestly. He got along with a few of his professors and TAs. "We can figure it all out."
