"I truly shouldn't be allowed near a stove. Someone could get hurt." It was perhaps a little self-depreciating, but mostly it was him trying to make a joke. He had always been better at joking around with people his own age, but he wasn't really a student anymore and so he was slowly starting to branch out and make jokes elsewhere. Well, at least wherever Professor Stark wasn't. "Oh. I suppose that does make it rather subjective. I haven't thought about how much salt goes into food, I guess." He knew that too much salt could cause problems down the road, but it didn't mean he knew that much about it.
His eyes scanned the picture as she returned his book to him and he smiled at the picture. He remembered when he drew it. It was just after he'd come back to school and he'd needed a break to keep from snapping. It was before he learned to just roll with things and not expect Professor Stark to remember he was around and happily sit in the corner doing the work that he was assigned. It was before he'd learned to turn homework in with a little note that said, The work you assigned, sir. Yes, you did assign it.
He lingered for a moment before he turned back to the one he was working on previously. "Oh, that must have been very interesting," he said. And he meant it. He'd never really been out of the country and the idea of learning things from people that were actually a part of different cultures was always interesting. His family probably wondered why he wasn't sorted into Ravenclaw with these habits, but maybe it was more because of his willingness to put all of himself into a project and his loyalty that decided it. He wasn't entirely sure what won him Hufflepuff House, but he wasn't disappointed either. "Oh, no. It was just me wondering. Dance, in itself, is an art form. My parents claim I should have been in Ravenclaw with how much information I try to absorb. I am sorry if I'm at all intrusive with my questions." As for his classes. "I suppose I took a few. When I was younger, but my family didn't really have that much money, so it was mostly a matter of being lucky enough to have someone who would give me supplies at discount prices and a few tips on how to better my drawings. I don't think I'll ever be done trying to improve on it, though."
