"Nothing is impossible," Ash said, "People who buy into that philosophy don't get very far, Lyra." There was a lot of truth in the statement, though in the context he was using it wasn't so serious. But Ash was going to try and he was going to put effort in. Sometimes it was good to do a little work. And he enjoyed quidditch more as something to get into during the school year, but considering America wasn't in the finals, he could ignore it for now.
Ash smirked and then moved languidly to position himself where Lyra could apply the sunscreen, "I would rather leave my skin in your care than either of them. I'm sure some would find the idea of Noctis applying sunscreen to them to be appealing, but I likely would end up with fleas." It was a rude remark, but Ash didn't care about the other boy. It was hard to say if they were friends or if they genuinely hated each other. Noc just always seemed to have a chip on his shoulder.
"Besides, just because he's obsessed with me doesn't mean the feeling is mutual."
