"We were in Paris when my mother decided she wanted a tan. She suggested going to Hawaii or Indonesia, and my father said they should go to both. She knew he'd say that if she suggested two places," Ash explained. He was technically there with his family but he rarely ever spent time with them. Well, maybe his sisters on occasion. Rowan was likely somewhere trying to keep Jade out of trouble and Kestrel likely had a number of boys wrapped around her little finger. She and Ash were sometimes of a similar mindset, but she was certainly more biting in sarcasm. Ash preferred to be scathing.
The smirk on his lips remained in tact when Lyra offered the sunscreen and her back to him. He moved up from his lounging position to get to his knees and took the sunscreen into his hands and poured some out. The process of applying it likely didn't need to involve a good shoulder massage, but Ash was happy to provide one. His fingers moving over her skin with a firm but gentle touch, rubbing at her shoulders and then back of her neck and then the back of the bikini she wore. He was never one not to admire the female form, and Ash always liked to do so with his hands.
"You do realize this means I'm taking you out tonight, right?" Ash said with a chuckle as his hands worked over her shoulders and then her collarbones, "And if you'd sent an owl, I would've come to see those griffins for myself or maybe took you out somewhere, Lyra. You may not be the usual girl to go dancing, but that doesn't mean you never dance."
