Hunter had allowed his body to slow down, giving Fawn the necessary moment to catch him. He didn't expect the tug to his ankle however, and for a moment he dipped under the water, sputtering as he came back up. The water was shallow enough that his feet could touch the bottom now, and although he knew that Fawn would likely move into his arms again, he stood his ground. After all, she was the one who had stayed with him, when everyone else had fled. He owed her everything and as much as he might worry about his body's reaction to her, Hunter could never stay apart from her for long.
"You've caught me," he sighed dramatically.
"I raise the white flag of surrender. Please be gentle with me."
