Hunter had always felt at home in the water and swimming was the closest thing to a sport he took part in. At first his father had encouraged it and tried to put him in lessons, until it had become clear that it was just another way for Hunter to be close to nature and he had no interest in enclosed, chlorinated pools. Just as he could outrun his sister, Hunter could easily out swim her. It was the joy of the chase that kept him within her reach.
"If I was slower, you'd catch me," he grinned, turning over into a backstroke.
