Hunter could see the hurt and confusion in his sister's face and immediately felt guilty. Nothing had come between them in the past, not school, not their parent's meddling. Hunter refused to let his curse tear them apart.
"I'm sorry, love. I didn't mean to snap," he sighed, reaching out for her.
"I know you want to help, but I don't think you realize how out of my mind I'll go. I wish I could say that I will never hurt you, but I can't take the risk."
