"Of course you were," Steve said with a lopsided grin. The man in front of him was changed, so little left of the boy he had grown up with. The joy was gone, along with the innocence that had always seemed to cling to Bucky, no matter what he got up to. Still, if there was one thing that could never be torn away from James Buchanan Barnes, it was that he would never turn down a fight, when he felt the cause was right.
The flow of students through the halls was starting to slow, as they each found their way to their common room or the Great Hall. Soon the two boys would be sticking out like even more of a sore thumb than they were, Bucky with his missing arm and Steve with his therapy dog.
"Can we at least go where we're supposed to, and find somewhere to talk? I just got back and I don't wanna lose House points less than a month in."
