Alexei felt as out of place in the Slytherin common as he did sometimes in his own Hufflepuff common, he realized. When the voice boomed out telling everyone to head to the nearest common though, it had sent him to the common of the house he should have been part of. He'd held himself apart here as he did in his own house (or as he tried to, given the sort of people who were his housemates). He'd pulled out a book and read some, although he was aware of what was going on around him too. He was conscious of what was going on outside, and knew his father or uncle were here - possibly both. He was at no risk, but it was still unsettling to know they had chosen to attack the school.
They wanted someone or something here. Alexei looked around the room, accidentally catching Ophelia's gaze. She smiled at him - well moved her mouth in a way that acknowledged his gaze. He forced a smile in return. It was polite. She was one of Sera's roommates and from a pure family.
