Steve could feel the eyes of his fellow students on him, watching as he slowly lost his mind. His hands had been steady since the experiment, but for the first time they began to shake again, along with the rest of him. Steve could feel the blood racing through his veins, his heart thudding in his chest. It felt as though his mind was trying to shut down, but his new body refused to allow it. The only thing that snapped him out of it was the quick motion of Bucky's shoulders, bringing attention to the boy's missing limb.
"Aggh."
A pained sound was wrenched from Steve's throat, but it pushed him forward. He was out of his seat and had a hand around Bucky's bicep before he even realized he'd moved. When they were together before, Bucky had taken Steve out to the hall hundreds of times, for an asthma attack or a nosebleed. Steve needed to get Bucky out of the classroom more than ever.
